Rise & ReBuild

Confidence Restoration. Economic Readiness. New Possibilities.

Heal Empower Restore Thrive
Category 01 — RISE & REBUILD OVERVIEW

Moving Beyond Crisis Towards Long-Term Thriving

Rise & ReBuild is Women For More International’s capacity-building programme supporting women to move beyond crisis towards confidence, opportunity, economic independence and long-term thriving.

Leaving adversity is not the end of a woman’s journey. For many women, it is the beginning of another — the journey of rebuilding confidence, re-establishing financial stability, re-entering the workforce, rediscovering identity and purpose, developing new skills, rebuilding professional networks, exploring entrepreneurship, and ultimately creating a future defined by possibility rather than limitation.

Rise & ReBuild exists for that journey.

The Challenge

Why Rise & ReBuild Exists

Women affected by domestic abuse and other structural barriers can face significant challenges long after immediate crisis has passed. Economic insecurity, disrupted careers, social isolation, reduced confidence and limited access to opportunity can make the transition from survival to independence extremely difficult.
At Women For More International, we believe that crisis support and long-term empowerment must be connected.

  • A woman may be safe, but still financially vulnerable.
  • She may have left an abusive relationship, but still lack confidence.
  • She may have skills, but lack access to opportunity.
  • She may have ambition, but lack the network, knowledge or resources to act on it.

Rise & ReBuild was created to help bridge that gap. Our work asks a critical question:

“What becomes possible when a woman has the confidence, capability, knowledge and opportunity to rebuild?”

— The Core Rise & ReBuild Question
Structured Pathway

Our Purpose

Rise & ReBuild supports women to move through a clear, structured pathway:

From Survival
To Stability
To Confidence
To Opportunity
To Independence
To Thriving

The programme complements Women For More International’s wider social-impact model by focusing specifically on the transition from recovery towards personal, professional and economic empowerment.

Target Audience

Who We Support

Rise & ReBuild is designed particularly for:

  • Women affected by domestic abuse
  • Survivors transitioning beyond crisis
  • Single women and mothers experiencing barriers to independence
  • Women experiencing economic hardship or social isolation
  • Women seeking to return to employment
  • Women exploring entrepreneurship or enterprise
  • Women seeking to rebuild confidence and professional identity
  • Women facing structural or societal barriers to opportunity

Our approach is survivor-informed, inclusive, strengths-based and focused on agency. We do not define women by what has happened to them. We focus on what can become possible next.

Category 02 — THE RISE & REBUILD APPROACH
Framework

The Four-Pillar Framework

Rise & ReBuild sits within Women For More International’s core four-pillar framework:

01. HEAL

Creating space for emotional wellbeing, reflection, resilience and recovery.

02. EMPOWER

Building knowledge, confidence, skills and the capacity to make informed decisions.

03. RESTORE

Rebuilding identity, purpose, financial capability, professional direction and stability.

04. THRIVE

Creating pathways towards employment, enterprise, leadership, economic independence and meaningful participation.

“Heal. Empower. Restore. Thrive. These are not simply four words. They represent the progression we want women to experience.”

Interconnected Curriculum

What Rise & ReBuild Delivers

Rise & ReBuild brings together interconnected areas of development rather than treating women’s challenges in isolation:

01

Mental Health & Wellbeing

Creating space for reflection, emotional wellbeing and healthier approaches to navigating life after adversity.

02

Emotional Resilience

Helping women strengthen their ability to navigate uncertainty, setbacks and significant life transitions.

03

04

Financial Empowerment

Developing financial awareness, budgeting capability and confidence around financial decision-making.

05

Career & Professional Development

Supporting women to explore career pathways, strengthen professional confidence and prepare for employment or progression.

06

Leadership & Entrepreneurship

Creating opportunities for women to explore enterprise, leadership and business development.

07

Community & Connection

Building relationships, peer networks and opportunities for women to learn, collaborate and grow together.

Delivery Philosophy

A Pathway, Not a One-Off Workshop

Rise & ReBuild is designed as a connected capacity-building pathway, not a collection of isolated activities. We want participants to move from:

Confidence
Capability
Opportunity
Economic Agency
Long-Term Progression

This means our ambition extends beyond delivering sessions. We want women to leave with greater clarity about where they are going and what they can do next.

Methodology

From Lived Experience to Systems Thinking

Rise & ReBuild is informed by Adebukola Salau’s lived experience of domestic abuse and rebuilding, as well as insight gathered through the wider Her Connect Hub community. But lived experience alone does not define the programme.
Women For More International combines lived experience with:

  • Evidence & Community Insight
  • Structured Programme Design & Safeguarding
  • Strategic Partnership & Measurement
  • Continuous Learning & Accountability

This enables us to develop interventions that are compassionate and structured; responsive and measurable; human-centred and designed for sustainable impact.

Vision

Our Ambition

Our ambition is to develop Rise & ReBuild into an increasingly scalable pathway for women transitioning beyond crisis. We want to build partnerships across:

Philanthropy | Business | Government | Foundations | Community Organisations | Employers | Education | Global Institutions

...to expand access to economic opportunity, skills, confidence, leadership and sustainable independence.

“Because recovery should not be the ceiling. It should be the beginning of possibility.”

Demonstrated Impact

Rise & ReBuild 2025–2026

From Programme Design to Demonstrated Impact. A funded programme delivered by Women For More International with support from The National Lottery Community Fund.

In 2025, Women For More International secured funding from The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver Rise & ReBuild as a structured programme supporting women through confidence restoration, wellbeing, financial empowerment, career development, leadership and entrepreneurship. The funding enabled us to translate our survivor-informed approach into practical programme delivery and create spaces where women could learn, connect, develop and begin taking meaningful steps towards their next chapter.

Participant Outcomes

What Changed

The success of Rise & ReBuild cannot be measured only by the number of sessions delivered. It must also be understood through the changes participants experienced. Programme feedback and engagement highlighted:

Increased Confidence

Women reported greater belief in their abilities and increased willingness to consider new possibilities.

Stronger Networks

Participants built relationships with other women, creating opportunities for connection, encouragement and peer learning.

Greater Purpose & Direction

The programme provided space for women to reflect on their aspirations and identify practical next steps.

Increased Knowledge & Capability

Participants gained exposure to financial, professional, personal-development and entrepreneurial learning.

Renewed Possibility

Women were encouraged to look beyond survival and consider what personal, professional and economic thriving could look like.

Continuous Learning

What We Learned & The Next Chapter

The programme strengthened an important principle within our work: Women need more than crisis intervention. They need pathways into opportunity.

Rise & ReBuild reinforced the importance of connecting wellbeing, confidence, financial capability, professional development and community. The completion of the 2025–2026 programme is not the end of Rise & ReBuild — it is the foundation for what comes next.

Women For More International is committed to strengthening the programme’s measurement framework, expanding strategic partnerships and developing increasingly scalable pathways towards economic participation, leadership and long-term independence.
